At Cairns, in a thrilling league final that went down to the wire, the Rangers jumped out to a 6-0 lead, then hung on to defeat the Brewers 7-6 in game three of the “A” Division final.  Brady Waldenberg went the distance to earn the win, while Justin Whiteside made a great defensive play on a hard hit ground ball to end the game, stranding the potential tying run on third base.

At Cairns Field, under the lights in game two of the “A” Division final, the Rangers overcame a 3-0 deficit with a five-run rally in the top of the seventh inning to defeat the Brewers 5-3.  Brady Waldenberg went the distance for the win, while Tim Hollman notched the game winning RBI.  Game three will be played Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at Cairns Field.

At Cairns, the Angels won the inaugural Redlick-Atkins trophy as champions of the “B” Division by overcoming an early 5-0 deficit to edge the Pirates 8-7 in nine innings.  Nolan Regier went the distance for the win, while Jason Blommaert drove in Todd Bergstresser with the winning run.

At Cairns, the Brewers drew first blood in the “A” Division final by defeating the Rangers 9-3.  Brady Fornwald went the distance to earn the win, and drove in three runs to lead the way offensively.

Under the lights, the Angels downed the Pirates 12-2, as Jason Blommaert pitched five innings for the win.  Dan Fortosky and Kyle Bregenser each had three ribbies to pace the offence.  Game two will take place Monday at 6:00.

At Cairns Field, the Rangers rode the strong right arm of Brady Waldenberg to a 7-3 victory over the Armadillos to win the rubber match of the series and advance to the “A” Division finals against the Brewers on Sunday.

At Leakos, the Angels downed the Sabres 15-2 in game three of their series to advance to the “B” Division final against the Pirates.  Kyle McCarty went all five innings for the win, while Dan Fortosky and Tyler Olivier each picked up four ribbies.

At Leakos, the Brewers advanced to the “A” Division final by virtue of a 5-3 victory over the Selects to sweep the series.  Colin Pylypow went five strong innings to pick up the win, while Brady Fornwald pitched the final two innings for the save.  Dan Holmes went two for four with two ribbies to lead the offence.  The Brewers will meet the winner of the Rangers-Armadillos series beginning Sunday night at Cairns Field.

At Stonebridge South, the Pirates became the first team to punch their ticket to the “B” Division finals by downing the Expos 7-1.  Vince Shivak went the distance to earn the win.

At Leakos, the Sabres extended their series to a third game with a 9-4 victory over the Angels.  Brandon Kopp was the winning pitcher, going 6 2/3 innings.  Andy Mitchell had four ribbies, while Jarred Stratechuk was a home run away from the cycle.

At Dief, Chad Mukanik and Steve Pura hooked up in another great game, which was tied 2-2 until the bottom of the sixth inning, when the Armadillos scored six runs with two outs to defeat the Rangers 8-2.  Chad Mukanik went the distance for the win, while Karsten Strelioff drove in the winning run.  Game three will take place Thursday at Leakos.

Round two started tonight on all four fronts............

At Stonebridge North, the Brewers defeated the Selects 10-5, as Brady Fornwald went the distance to earn the win.  AJ Speirs and Parker Robb each had three ribbies to lead the way offensively.

At Stonebridge South, the Rangers clawed their way back from a 6-1 fourth inning deficit, eventually getting a walk off single in the bottom of the seventh from Barrett Taylor to down the Armadillos 7-6.  Brady Waldenberg picked up the win in relief of Mike Henschel.

At Leakos, the Pirates blanked the Expos 8-0, with Dave Fitzsimmons throwing a complete game two hitter.  Bobby Hill had a bases loaded double to break the game open in the fourth inning.

At Dief, the Angels downed the Sabres 9-5.  Nolan Regier picked up the complete game win, while Brandon Cameron led the offence with 3 ribbies in addition to making a great catch to help defensively.

At Leakos, the Armadillos scored three runs in the top of the seventh to nip the Wombats 10-8 in game three of the series.  Karsten Strelioff picked up the win in relief of Chad Mukanik, while Drew Atkins’ bases loaded two out single plated the winning runs.  The Armadillos will face the Rangers in round two beginning Thursday.

At Stonebridge South, the Brewers downed Northeast 17-7, as Boyd Bergstrom went six innings to earn the win.  Brady Fornwald had a two run homer and Dan Holmes had five ribbies to lead the offensive attack.  The Brewers will meet the Selects in round two beginning Thursday.

At Stonebridge North, the Pirates pulled out a 14-12 victory over the Sandlot Sluggers, as Dalton Kolybaba went the distance to pick up the win.

At Dief, the Expos edged the Skunks 8-7 in nine innings, as Cody McConnell had the game winning walk off single.  Ryan Loran pitched the final two innings to earn the win in relief.  The Expos and Pirates will meet in round two beginning Thursday.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 3 PLAYOFF UPDATE:

Game 3 in all four remaining series will be played Tuesday night.  

Round 2 in all four series will begin Thursday night.  The complete round two schedule will be posted after the pairings are finalized.

“A” Division Playoffs:

At Stonebridge North, the top seeded Rangers completed their sweep of the Rhinos with a 3-0 victory, behind the strong right arm of Mike Henschel, who only allowed three hits.  Ryan Usher, as always, pitched well in defeat.

At Dief, the Selects downed the Royals 13-10 to sweep their series in a game where the lead changed hands several times.

At Leakos, Northeast defeated the Brewers 10-3, as Nicholas Enns went the distance to earn the win.  Devin Gerwing went 2 for 2, and Tyrell Pompu went 3 for 5 to lead the offensive attack.  Game three in the series will be played Tuesday at Stonebridge South.

At Stonebridge South, both teams pounded the ball all night long, until the Armadillos finally outlasted the Wombats 16-11.  Chad Mukanik homered for the Armadillos, while Andrew Leslie reached base five times, and Jared Ooms four times to pace the offence.   Brandon Hutt picked up the win in relief of Karsten Strelioff.  Game three goes Tuesday at Leakos.

“B” Division Playoffs:

At Dief, the Expos blanked the Skunks 11-0, as Jesse Murray pitched five shutout innings to earn the win. Game three will be played Tuesday night at Dief.

At Stonebridge South, the Pirates forced a third game in their series with a 10-2 win over the Sandlot Sluggers.  Vince Shivak went the distance to earn the win, while Ryan Woodley had two ribbies and three runs scored to lead the way offensively.  Game three goes Tuesday night at Stonebridge North.

Ar Stonebridge North, the Angels downed the Reds 12-5 to sweep their series, as Nolan Regier notched the complete game win.  Todd Bergstresser and Johnny Campbell each had a pair of hits to pace the offence.

At Leakos, a fifth inning triple play highlighted a 3-2 Sabres walk-off win over the Cubs to earn the series sweep.  Adam Forbes had the game winning single, while Liam Dyck pitched 6 1/3 strong innings for the Sabres.

“A” Division Playoffs:

At Leakos, the top seeded Rangers spotted the Rhinos an early 4-0 lead before storming back for a 21-5 win.  Brady Waldenberg was the winning pitcher.

At Dief, the Wombats broke open a tight game with three sixth inning runs to earn the 7-3 victory over the Armadillos.  The Wombats outfield defence contributed greatly to the win, throwing out two runners at the plate on potential sacrifice flies.

At Stonebridge South, in a sloppy affair, the Selects escaped with a 15-13 win over the Royals.

At Stonebridge North, the Brewers defeated Northeast 10-3, as Brady Fornwald went five strong innings before giving way to AJ Speirs, who finished the game.  Tyler Beckie led the way offensively with five hits and three runs scored.

Game two in all four series will take place Thursday night.

“B” Division Playoffs:

At Leakos, the top seeded Angels downed the Reds 4-1.  Jason Blommaert went the distance for the win, striking out 10 along the way.  Trent Maclean and Tanner Baht led the way offensively, with two hits and two ribbies each.

At Dief, the Sandlot Sluggers drew first blood against the Pirates, as Austin Trakalo picked up the complete game win.  Alex Osczevski paced the offence with three hits.

At Stonebridge South, the Skunks defeated the Expos 9-4.

At Stonebridge North, the Sabres beat the Cubs 18-11.

Game two in all four series will take place Wednesday night.

At Stonebridge South, Northeast Red Sox swept their double header with the Cannons by scores of 17-10 and 13-1.  Brendan Leblanc and Luc Casavant pitched in the first game, while Logan Casavant picked up the win in game two.  With the sweep, Northeast finished third and will play the Brewers in the first round, beginning Tuesday at Stonebridge North.

At Dief, in a surprisingly entertaining game, with little on the line for either team, the Armadillos defeated the Wombats 4-3, thanks to Jared Ooms’ walk off single with two out in the bottom of the seventh.  Ooms was also the winning pitcher, in relief of Brandon Hutt.  Each team used four pitchers, in order to conserve arms for the playoffs, beginning Tuesday when these same two teams will face off in game one at Dief.

At Stonebridge South, the Rhinos overcame an early 3-0 deficit, and punched their ticket to the playoffs with 8-4 victory over Bruno.  Coach Usher showed some timely leadership, going the distance for the important win.

At Stonebridge North, the Angels clinched first place in the “B” Division with a 14-3 victory over the Skunks.  Kyle McCarty went the distance to earn the win, while dan Fortosky went 3 for 4 to lead the way offensively.

At Leakos, the Reds downed the Cardinals 11-10.

With the season nearing completion, I thought it might be interesting to look at what is still up for grabs in the playoff race:

A Division
__________

Rangers have secured the top seed and will play the 8 seed in round 1 beginning Tuesday.
Wombats have secured the 2 seed and will play the 7 seed in round 1
Royals will finish either 3rd or 4th depending on the results of the Northeast games Sunday.
Northeast will finish 3rd if they win both games of their Sunday double header, fourth if they split, and possibly fifth if they lose both, depending on what the Selects do in their final game.
Selects can still finish 4, 5 or 6 depending on this week's results.
Brewers can still finish 5 or 6 depending on the results of the Selects final game.
Armadillos have clinched either the 7 or 8 seed.
The winner of the Rhinos-Bruno game Thursday gets the final spot, or could possibly go as high as 7th depending on the result of the Armadillos-Wombats final game.  The loser of the Rhinos-Bruno game is eliminated.
The Tigers and Cannons have been eliminated.

B Division

Pirates get the 1 or 2 seed, depending on the results of the Angels final game.
Angels can get the 1 seed if they win their final game.
Cubs have secured the 3 seed.
Expos have secured the 4 seed.
Skunks have secured the 5 seed.
The Sandlot Sluggers, Reds and Sabres have all clinched playoff spots and will slot into the 6, 7 and 8 seeds in some order depending on the results of this week’s games.
Slowtrains and Cardinals have been eliminated.

At Leakos, the Brewers nipped the Tigers 5-4 as Mark Dodds, Tyler Beckie and AJ Speirs all pitched effectively in the win.

At Stonebridge North, the Skunks scored six runs in the first inning, and hung for a 7-4 victory over the Pirates.  Sean Hoey went the distance for the win.

At Stonebridge South, the Expos downed the Sabres 16-3.  The Expos offence was spread around, with Stephan Gauthier going 4 for 5 with 5 ribbies.  Cody McConnell also had 4 hits, while Colten Jensen and Mark Nieman picked up 3 hits apiece.

At Stonebridge North, the Wombats downed Bruno 5-2, as Calvin Foltz picked up the win, with Landon Suchan going 2 for 3 to pace the offence.

At Leakos, the Cubs defeated the Sandlot Sluggers 5-4.  Dustin Voth was the winning pitcher.

At Dief, in a game that lasted only 70 minutes, the Armadillos blanked the Brewers 2-0.  Brandon Hutt went the distance to earn the win, while Andrew Leslie’s double provided the game winning RBI in the fourth inning.

At Stonebridge South, the Angels beat the Reds 16-1.  Nolan Regier went the distance, striking out 8 along the way.  Jason Blommaert and Johnny Campbell led the offensive attack with three hits apiece.

At Leakos, in a “B” Division first place battle, the Pirates defeated the Angels 12-7.  Vince Shivak went six strong to record the win, while Ben Flath had 3 hits and 3 ribbies to pace the offence.

At Dief, the Tigers inched to within one point of a playoff spot by downing the Cannons 9-2.  Regan Sproule went the distance to earn the win, striking out six along the way.  Jared Bayne had 3 hits to lead the way offensively.

At Stonebridge South, the Cubs downed the Reds 12-6, as Colby Schemenauer went the distance to pick up the win.

At Stonebridge North, the Brewers defeated Bruno 4-1, on the strength of Boyd Bergstrom’s complete game one hitter.  Taylor Robb had three hits and two runs to lead the way offensively.

At Dief, the Rangers edged Northeast 3-2 in game one of the double header, as Brady Waldenberg drove in Steve Pura with the winning run in the top of the sixth.  Waldenberg was also the pitcher of record, picking up the win for the Rangers.

At Dief, in game two of the double header, Northeast and the Armadillos remained scoreless until the seventh inning, when the Armadillos picked up two runs in the top half.......BUT....Northeast dealt the Armadillos their second walk off defeat of the week, scoring three runs in the bottom half.  Logan Casavant had the big blow, a two out bases loaded single to end the game......Tyrell Pompu had three hits, while Devin Gerwing went the distance for the win.......

At Leakos, the Slowtrains kept their playoffs hopes alive by defeating the Pirates 11-9.  Austin Nerbas picked up the complete game victory, while Taylor Butchy had 3 hits and 4 ribbies.

At Stonebridge South, in a back and forth game, the Cannons walked off the Royals 6-5.  Josh Kerpan picked up the win with three innings of solid relief.

At Leakos, the Rangers downed Bruno 7-1 for their ninth win in a row.  Mike Henschel went six strong innings of five hit ball to pick up the win, before Josh Cote came on to pitch the seventh.  Mitch Butler and Tim Hollman each had two ribbies, while Jared Stuckel contributed a couple of hits as well.

At Stonebridge North, the Royals defeated the Selects 7-3, with Darren Johnson picking up the win.

At Stonebridge South, the Pirates beat the Cubs 11-1.  Dave Fitzsimmons went the distance to record the win, while Bobby Hill’s two-run triple was the big hit offensively.

At Dief, the Skunks upended the Sandlot Sluggers 10-8.

At Dief, the Cubs defeated the Sandlot Sluggers 14-4.  David Sapp notched the victory.  Austin Trakalo homered in a losing cause for the Sluggers.

At Leakos, the Sabres beat the Angels 10-7.  

At Stonebridge North, the Wombats downed the Cannons 5-1.  Yunel Ramos picked up the complete game win for the Wombats.

At Stonebridge South, the Tigers kept their playoff hopes alive with a 5-3 victory over the Armadillos.  John Delbert went the distance to pick up the win.  Karsten Strelioff hit an inside the park homer for the Armadillos.

At 4:00 I was informed that the Leakos game tonight will need to be cancelled and rescheduled due to an irrigation mishap that occurred this afternoon.  The diamond is flooded.

At Stonebridge North, the Rangers blanked Br;uno 10-0, as Steve Pura picked up the win.  Mike Henschel, Dave Pura and Tim Hollman each had two hits for the Rangers.

At Stonebridge South, in a well pitched game by both teams, the Selects defeated the Brewers 5-3.  Kody Hartung earned the complete game win.

At Dief, the Rhinos downed the Royals 4-3 in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the seventh, after trailing all game.  Jason Garchinski picked up the win in relief, and also got the walk off hit to score Jon Kulyk.

At Dief, the Brewers silenced the Cannons 11-1, as Colin Pylypow struck out five over five innings to pick up the win.  Taylor Robb hit a game-ending grand slam in the bottom of the fifth inning.

At Leakos, the Reds downed the Cardinals 14-5.

At Stonebridge South, the Cubs defeated the Sabres 11-6.  Dustin Voth earned the win, while Jeff Schemenauer came on to record the save.

Once again, close games and heartstopping finishes were the order of the night........

At Dief (it pains me to write this one.......) the Wombats scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, including a walk-off two-out bases loaded double by Tyler Baier, scoring the winning three runs to defeat the Armadillos 6-5.  Shawn Baier and Chad Mukanik duelled for six innings before Yunel Ramos came on to pick up the win in relief for the Wombats.  

At Leakos, the Royals won both ends of the double header from the Tigers with twin 10-9 victories.  In game one, the Royals came back from an 8-0 deficit to eke out the 10-9 victory in ten innings.  Darren Johnson picked up the win in relief, also going 3 for 4 with two doubles.  In game two, Darren Johnson pitched the complete game to earn the win.  Tyler Russell went 3 for 4 to pace the offence.

At Stonebridge North, the Skunks nipped the Sandlot Sluggers 2-1, as Sean Hoey and Jeff Peters engaged in a pitcher’s duel.

At Stonebridge South, the Pirates defeated the Skunks 14-5, as Ryan Compain went the distance to earn the win.

At Dief, the Royals dug themselves out of a 6-1 hole to down the Brewers 9-7.  Darren Johnson picked up the win, while C.J. Gavlas had four ribbies including the game winner.

At Leakos, the Rangers came back to defeat the Rhinos 7-6 in walk-off fashion, with Mike Henschel scoring the tying run and Dustin Emberley doubling in Justin Whiteside with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.  Barrett Taylor pitched six strong innings for the Rangers en route to the victory, before Dustin Emberley came on the pick up the win in relief.

After two nights off, the league finally swung back into action tonight.......if the goal of separating the league into two divisions was to create parity, check out the “A” Division standings.......5 of the 11 teams (Selects, Armadillos, Brewers, Royals, Bruno) are EXACTLY at .500.......

At Leakos, where earlier in the day, former Wombat Shane Hartell was laid to rest, it was only fitting that his former mates downed the Selects 11-1 in five innings.  Calvin Foltz went the distance for the win, while Braden Suchan went 3 for 4 with two triples to lead the way offensively.

In a rare game under the lights at Cairns Field, the Rangers downed the Cannons 7-1.  Brady Waldenberg pitched a complete game, while Jared Stuckel got a couple hits to help out offensively.

At Stonebridge South, the first-place Angels defeated the Sandlot Sluggers 11-7, as Jason Blommaert went six innings to earn the win.  Mark “Sunshine” Severin connected for his first ever SMBL home run to pace the offence.

At Stonebridge North, the Reds derailed the Slowtrains 14-8.

At Dief the Expos blanked the Cardinals 7-0.

At Leakos, the Pirates defeated the Expos 8-5, as Dave Fitzsimmons picked up the win.

At Stonebridge North, the Slowtrains downed the Sabres 10-5.  Austin Nerbas went the distance to pick up the win, while Devin Huber went 3 for 4 with 4 RBI.

At Stonebridge South, the Cubs beat the Cardinals 8-5.  Cole Kirkham earned the complete game win, while David Sapp went 2 for 3, and drove in the game winning run.

At Dief, the Rhinos rallied from a fifth inning 8-2 deficit, led by their young guys (their old guys were too tired from the weekend 35+ Provincials) to beat the Selects 10-8.  Mike Martin picked up the win in relief, while Jon Kulyk had three hits, two ribbies and two runs to pace the offence.

At Stonebridge South, the Armadillos defeated Bruno Bisons 8-7 thanks to a walk off RBI single by Johnny Abdulnour, driving in Mason Sawatzky.  Josh Mattern went 5 1/3 strong innings, before giving way to Chad Nixey and eventually Karsten Strelioff, who picked up the vulture win in relief by getting the final out in the top of the seventh to shut off a 3-run Bruno rally which had tied the game with two out.

At Stonebridge North, the Sluggers also picked up a 9-8 win in walk off fashion, thanks to Austin Trakalo's RBI single in the bottom of the ninth.  Jeff Peters picked up the win with three shutout innings of relief, while Adam Osczevski went 3 for 5 at the plate.

At Leakos, in the third walk-off of the night, the Skunks downed the Cubs 3-2 in eight innings, thanks to Ed Krol's bases loaded single.  Sean Hoey went all eight innings to pick up the win.

At Leakos, the Pirates downed the Expos 4-2.  Dalton Kolybaba picked up the win in relief.

At Dief, the Angels defeated the Sabres 12-2, as Kyle Bregenser struck out six in five innings for the win. Tanner Baht and Tyler Olivier each contributed three hits offensively.

At Leakos, in a bit of a sloppy affair featuring five hit batsmen for each team (including Armadillo first baseman Doug Atkins), the Armadillos broke out to an 8-0 lead and held on to defeat the Rhinos 13-7.  Chad Mukanik went the distance to earn the win, while Drew Atkins went 4 for 4 at the plate.

At Stonebridge South, the Selects scored three runs in the first inning, and that held up as the final score in the 3-0 win over the Royals.  Kody Hartung went the distance to earn the shutout.  Special thanks to Darwin Redlick who volunteered to umpire the game rather than see it cancelled due to an umpire shortage.

At Dief, the Cubs defeated the Sandlot Sluggers 7-0.  Special thanks to Brian Peters for stepping up at the last minute to umpire the game when the scheduled ump called in sick.

The game at Stonebridge South was postponed due to a shortage of umpires.

At Dief, following some nice words by Gary Dodds, and a pre-game moment of silence to remember Shane Hartell, the Rangers and Armadillos went back and forth for five innings before the Rangers scored three in the sixth and two in the seventh to overcome the Armadillos 8-4.  Bear Taylor went the distance to earn the win, while Even Froc went 3 for 4 with two RBI for the Rangers.

At Stonebridge South, the Pirates downed the Cardinals 9-2, with Dalton Kolybaba picking up the complete game win.

At Stonebridge North, the Royals got a walk-off two-RBI base hit from C.J. Gavlas to nip the Rhinos 7-6.

At Leakos, the Skunks also walked off the Sabres 8-7 on the strength of Ken Wilde's game winning RBI in the bottom of the seventh inning.  Maykel Mendizabal pitched five innings for the Skunks before James O'Neill came on to pick up the win in relief.

For those who haven’t heard, I am very sorry to report that the SMBL lost a member of the family over the weekend.  Shane Hartell, the Aussie umpire, former Wombat and most importantly a husband, and father to a young daughter, passed away over the weekend due to a work related accident........he will be missed.  To honour Shane, a moment of silence will be observed before each game on Tuesday and Wednesday night, so that most teams get an opportunity to participate.

At Stonebridge North, the Cubs defeated the Slowtrains 8-6.  Carter Moorman picked up the win in relief. The Cubs scored the winning runs in the top of the seventh, courtesy of Eric Langevin’s bases loaded single.

At Stonebridge South, the Angels beat the Expos 13-7, with Jason Blommaert picking up the complete game win, striking out 10 along the way and adding a couple of triples offensively.  Jody Haut also contributed three hits for the Angels.

At Leakos, the Pirates downed the Sandlot Sluggers 14-4, as Dave Fitzsimmons was the winning pitcher.  Bobby Hill led the offense with 3 RBI.

At Dief, the Armadillos and Cannons engaged in a tight pitcher’s duel between Chad Mukanik and Terry McNabb for five innings until the Armadillos broke through with six runs in the sixth inning to pull out the 8-2 victory.  Garnet Paulsen’s two RBI single was the game winning hit, while Karsten Strelioff went 4 for 4 with four ribbies.  Hoss Mukanik went the distance to pick up his fourth win of the season.

In a hard fought battle at Stonebridge South, the Expos scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh, with Mark Nieman hitting the walk-off single to secure the win.  Colton Jensen went the distance to earn the win for the Expos.

At Leakos, the Cardinals downed the Slowtrains 16-13.  Colby Hepburn provided the offensive spark for the Cardinals with a two-run homer, ending the night with three runs and three RBI.  Brad Sader recorded the two inning save for the Cards.

At Stonebridge North, the Cubs defeated the Sabres 15-1.  Dave Sapp was the winning pitcher, making good use of his gravity curve ball to strike out four along the way.  Carter Moorman led the Cubs offensively.

At Leakos, the Royals downed Northeast 7-3 in game one of the double header.  Tyler Russell and Darren Johnson shared the pitching duties for the Royals, while Ryan Orth was 4 for 4 at the plate.
In game two of the double header, the Brewers jumped out to a 7-2 lead, then held on as Northeast scored four runs in the seventh to make the final score 7-6.  Colin Pylypow picked up the save, stranding the tying run at third base.  Marlow Night had two ribbies for the Brew Crew, while Tyler Beckie scored three runs.

At Dief, in game one of the double header, the Skunks beat the Cubs 18-6 as Ed Krol and Maykel Mendizabal handled the pitching duties.  In game two, the Angels defeated the Skunks 14-3, as Kyle Bregenser pitched all five innings for the win in addition to contributing four hits and four ribbies offensively for the Angels.

Thanks to Lane Gerwing and the gang in Melfort, the Northeast Red Sox hosted their second double header of the season today........by all accounts, offense was the order of the day......

In game one, the Rhinos prevailed 11-9 after overcoming a 7-1 deficit.  Ryan Usher picked up the win, and helped his own cause with a home run.  Jason Garchinski also homered for the Rhinos.  In the second game Northeast rebounded to win 8-7, as Nick Enns worked all seven innings for the win, in addition to providing a couple of hits.  Logan Casavant went 3 for 4 for the Red Sox.

At Stonebridge North, the Rhinos staged a comeback of their own, scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to walk off with a 9-8 win over the Cannons.  Ryan Usher rebounded from a 0-4 performance, providing the walk off base hit to avoid extra innings and allow him to get to date night with his wife only 45 minutes late.  Constable Barnstable picked up the win, tossing three innings of relief.

At Stonebridge South, the Bruno Bisons defeated the Rhinos 6-5 in a game that was called in the bottom of the sixth inning.  Adam Olchowski pitched five innings to earn the win, with Graham Bradfoot picking up the one inning save.

At Stonebridge North, the Wombats overcame a 4-run deficit, scoring five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to defeat the Brewers 9-8.  Calvin Foltz pitched four innings in relief to earn the win.

At Stonebridge South, Bruno spotted the Royals six runs in the first inning, but battled back to nip the Royals 10-9.  Curtis Sibley homered for the Bisons, while Adam Olchowski pitched five innings to earn the win.  Jason McCrea pitched the final two innings to record the save.

At Leakos, the Cubs doubled up on the Cardinals 14-7.  Dustin Voth pitched five innings to get the win.  Nolan Murray paced the offence with three hits and four ribbies.

At Stonebridge South, the Selects downed the Cannons 11-3.  Kody Hartung pitched five strong innings to earn his second win of the young season.

At Stonebridge North, the Skunks defeated the Sabres 11-6, as Bren Hannay and Ken Wilde split the pitching duties for the winners.

At Dief, the Slowtrains and Angels played to a 13-13 draw.  Connor Johnson sparked the Slowtrains comeback with a solo homer in the fifth inning.

At Leakos, the Brewers outlasted the Rhinos 11-8 as Colin Pylypow pitched six innings to earn the win.  Mark Dodds pitched the seventh to pick up the save.  Marlow Knight went 3 for 4 with four ribbies for the Brewers to lead the way offensively.

At Stonebridge North, the Pirates broke out to a 4-0 lead, but the Sandlot Sluggers came back to tie it up in the fifth inning.  At the end of the day, nothing was settled.  When the umpire called the game due to darkness after eight innings, the 4-4 draw goes into the books as a tie.

At Dief, Northeast took both ends of the double header from the Tigers, squeaking by 7-6 in the opener on a walkoff single by Tyrell Pompu, and claiming the nightcap 12-2 with strong pitching from Nick Enns and Brendan Leblanc.

At Stonebridge South, the Reds downed the Expos 19-11.

Well, at least we managed to get one game in tonight.........and by all accounts it was classic back and forth battle at Leakos with five lead changes before the Wombats walked off with a 7-6 win in the bottom of the seventh inning over the Rangers thanks to a Leon Zinkowski game winning double.  Tyler Knudsen picked up the win in relief.

The games at Stonebridge and Dief were postponed due to wet grounds.

At Dief, the Expos rallied in the bottom of the seventh inning to deal the Cards a 9-8 defeat.

At Stonebridge South, the Reds defeated the Slowtrains 10-0 in six innings.

At Stonebridge North, Kody Hartung went the distance to earn the win as the Selects shut out the Armadillos 11-0 in five innings.  Hartung also chipped in offensively with two hits and two ribbies.
