Brady Waldenberg went the distance to earn the win, while Justin Whiteside made a great defensive play on a hard hit ground ball to end the game, stranding the potential tying run on third base.

At Leakos, the Sabres extended their series to a third game with a 9-4 victory over the Angels. Brandon Kopp was the winning pitcher, going 6 2/3 innings. Andy Mitchell had four ribbies, while Jarred Stratechuk was a home run away from the cycle.
At Dief, Chad Mukanik and Steve Pura hooked up in another great game, which was tied 2-2 until the bottom of the sixth inning, when the Armadillos scored six runs with two outs to defeat the Rangers 8-2. Chad Mukanik went the distance for the win, while Karsten Strelioff drove in the winning run. Game three will take place Thursday at Leakos.

At Stonebridge North, the Brewers defeated the Selects 10-5, as Brady Fornwald went the distance to earn the win. AJ Speirs and Parker Robb each had three ribbies to lead the way offensively.
At Stonebridge South, the Rangers clawed their way back from a 6-1 fourth inning deficit, eventually getting a walk off single in the bottom of the seventh from Barrett Taylor to down the Armadillos 7-6. Brady Waldenberg picked up the win in relief of Mike Henschel.
At Leakos, the Pirates blanked the Expos 8-0, with Dave Fitzsimmons throwing a complete game two hitter. Bobby Hill had a bases loaded double to break the game open in the fourth inning.
At Dief, the Angels downed the Sabres 9-5. Nolan Regier picked up the complete game win, while Brandon Cameron led the offence with 3 ribbies in addition to making a great catch to help defensively.

At Leakos, the Armadillos scored three runs in the top of the seventh to nip the Wombats 10-8 in game three of the series. Karsten Strelioff picked up the win in relief of Chad Mukanik, while Drew Atkins’ bases loaded two out single plated the winning runs. The Armadillos will face the Rangers in round two beginning Thursday.
At Stonebridge South, the Brewers downed Northeast 17-7, as Boyd Bergstrom went six innings to earn the win. Brady Fornwald had a two run homer and Dan Holmes had five ribbies to lead the offensive attack. The Brewers will meet the Selects in round two beginning Thursday.
At Stonebridge North, the Pirates pulled out a 14-12 victory over the Sandlot Sluggers, as Dalton Kolybaba went the distance to pick up the win.
At Dief, the Expos edged the Skunks 8-7 in nine innings, as Cody McConnell had the game winning walk off single. Ryan Loran pitched the final two innings to earn the win in relief. The Expos and Pirates will meet in round two beginning Thursday.

At Dief, the Selects downed the Royals 13-10 to sweep their series in a game where the lead changed hands several times.
At Leakos, Northeast defeated the Brewers 10-3, as Nicholas Enns went the distance to earn the win. Devin Gerwing went 2 for 2, and Tyrell Pompu went 3 for 5 to lead the offensive attack. Game three in the series will be played Tuesday at Stonebridge South.
At Stonebridge South, both teams pounded the ball all night long, until the Armadillos finally outlasted the Wombats 16-11. Chad Mukanik homered for the Armadillos, while Andrew Leslie reached base five times, and Jared Ooms four times to pace the offence. Brandon Hutt picked up the win in relief of Karsten Strelioff. At Stonebridge South, the Pirates forced a third game in their series with a 10-2 win over the Sandlot Sluggers. Vince Shivak went the distance to earn the win, while Ryan Woodley had two ribbies and three runs scored to lead the way offensively. Game three goes Tuesday night at Stonebridge North.

At Dief, the Wombats broke open a tight game with three sixth inning runs to earn the 7-3 victory over the Armadillos. The Wombats outfield defence contributed greatly to the win, throwing out two runners at the plate on potential sacrifice flies.
At Stonebridge South, in a sloppy affair, the Selects escaped with a 15-13 win over the Royals.
At Stonebridge North, the Brewers defeated Northeast 10-3, as Brady Fornwald went five strong innings before giving way to AJ Speirs, who finished the game. Tyler Beckie led the way offensively with five hits and three runs scored.

At Stonebridge South, Northeast Red Sox swept their double header with the Cannons by scores of 17-10 and 13-1. Brendan Leblanc and Luc Casavant pitched in the first game, while Logan Casavant picked up the win in game two. With the sweep, Northeast finished third and will play the Brewers in the first round, beginning Tuesday at Stonebridge North.
At Dief, in a surprisingly entertaining game, with little on the line for either team, the Armadillos defeated the Wombats 4-3, thanks to Jared Ooms’ walk off single with two out in the bottom of the seventh. Ooms was also the winning pitcher, in relief of Brandon Hutt. Each team used four pitchers, in order to conserve arms for the playoffs, beginning Tuesday when these same two teams will face off in game one at Dief.

A Division

Rangers have secured the top seed and will play the 8 seed in round 1 beginning Tuesday.
Wombats have secured the 2 seed and will play the 7 seed in round 1
Royals will finish either 3rd or 4th depending on the results of the Northeast games Sunday.
Northeast will finish 3rd if they win both games of their Sunday double header, fourth if they split, and possibly fifth if they lose both, depending on what the Selects do in their final game.
Selects can still finish 4, 5 or 6 depending on this week's results.
Brewers can still finish 5 or 6 depending on the results of the Selects final game.
Armadillos have clinched either the 7 or 8 seed.
The winner of the Rhinos-Bruno game Thursday gets the final spot, or could possibly go as high as 7th depending on the result of the Armadillos-Wombats final game. The loser of the Rhinos-Bruno game is eliminated.
The Tigers and Cannons have been eliminated.

Shawn Baier and Chad Mukanik duelled for six innings before Yunel Ramos came on to pick up the win in relief for the Wombats.
At Leakos, the Royals won both ends of the double header from the Tigers with twin 10-9 victories. In game one, the Royals came back from an 8-0 deficit to eke out the 10-9 victory in ten innings. Darren Johnson picked up the win in relief, also going 3 for 4 with two doubles. In game two, Darren Johnson pitched the complete game to earn the win. Tyler Russell went 3 for 4 to pace the offence.
At Stonebridge North, the Skunks nipped the Sandlot Sluggers 2-1, as Sean Hoey and Jeff Peters engaged in a pitcher’s duel.

At Leakos, where earlier in the day, former Wombat Shane Hartell was laid to rest, it was only fitting that his former mates downed the Selects 11-1 in five innings. Calvin Foltz went the distance for the win, while Braden Suchan went 3 for 4 with two triples to lead the way offensively.
In a rare game under the lights at Cairns Field, the Rangers downed the Cannons 7-1. Brady Waldenberg pitched a complete game, while Jared Stuckel got a couple hits to help out offensively.
At Stonebridge South, the first-place Angels defeated the Sandlot Sluggers 11-7, as Jason Blommaert went six innings to earn the win. Mark “Sunshine” Severin connected for his first ever SMBL home run to pace the offence.

For those who haven’t heard, I am very sorry to report that the SMBL lost a member of the family over the weekend. Shane Hartell, the Aussie umpire, former Wombat and most importantly a husband, and father to a young daughter, passed away over the weekend due to a work related accident........he will be missed. To honour Shane, a moment of silence will be observed before each game on Tuesday and Wednesday night, so that most teams get an opportunity to participate.

In game two of the double header, the Brewers jumped out to a 7-2 lead, then held on as Northeast scored four runs in the seventh to make the final score 7-6. Colin Pylypow picked up the save, stranding the tying run at third base. Marlow Night had two ribbies for the Brew Crew, while Tyler Beckie scored three runs.
At Dief, in game one of the double header, the Skunks beat the Cubs 18-6 as Ed Krol and Maykel Mendizabal handled the pitching duties. In game two, the Angels defeated the Skunks 14-3, as Kyle Bregenser pitched all five innings for the win in addition to contributing four hits and four ribbies offensively for the Angels.

In game one, the Rhinos prevailed 11-9 after overcoming a 7-1 deficit. Ryan Usher picked up the win, and helped his own cause with a home run. Jason Garchinski also homered for the Rhinos. In the second game Northeast rebounded to win 8-7, as Nick Enns worked all seven innings for the win, in addition to providing a couple of hits. Logan Casavant went 3 for 4 for the Red Sox.

At Stonebridge South, the Selects downed the Cannons 11-3. Kody Hartung pitched five strong innings to earn his second win of the young season.
At Stonebridge North, the Skunks defeated the Sabres 11-6, as Bren Hannay and Ken Wilde split the pitching duties for the winners.
At Dief, the Slowtrains and Angels played to a 13-13 draw. Connor Johnson sparked the Slowtrains comeback with a solo homer in the fifth inning.

At Leakos, the Brewers outlasted the Rhinos 11-8 as Colin Pylypow pitched six innings to earn the win. Mark Dodds pitched the seventh to pick up the save. Marlow Knight went 3 for 4 with four ribbies for the Brewers to lead the way offensively.
At Stonebridge North, the Pirates broke out to a 4-0 lead, but the Sandlot Sluggers came back to tie it up in the fifth inning. At the end of the day, nothing was settled. When the umpire called the game due to darkness after eight innings, the 4-4 draw goes into the books as a tie.
At Dief, Northeast took both ends of the double header from the Tigers, squeaking by 7-6 in the opener on a walkoff single by Tyrell Pompu, and claiming the nightcap 12-2 with strong pitching from Nick Enns and Brendan Leblanc.
At Stonebridge South, the Reds downed the Expos 19-11.

Well, at least we managed to get one game in tonight.........and by all accounts it was classic back and forth battle at Leakos with five lead changes before the Wombats walked off with a 7-6 win in the bottom of the seventh inning over the Rangers thanks to a Leon Zinkowski game winning double. Tyler Knudsen picked up the win in relief.
The games at Stonebridge and Dief were postponed due to wet grounds.

At Stonebridge North, Kody Hartung went the distance to earn the win as the Selects shut out the Armadillos 11-0 in five innings. Hartung also chipped in offensively with two hits and two ribbies.
